DR Senior Specialist


IT Disaster Recovery’s main purpose is to recover the technology (hardware, software, and data) that supports critical business processes in a systems disaster or when a disruption to normal IT and business operations occurs. This is accomplished by partnering with technology organizations across the enterprise to develop, test, and implement comprehensive methodologies and disaster recovery plans that encompass all technology platforms and work locations.
The Disaster Recovery [Sr.] Specialist works on key aspects of planning, training, communications, testing and execution of enterprise-wide IT disaster recovery, including disaster recovery strategies, plan development, and plan testing, and adheres to the established NWC DR and BCP practices.


Functional Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining the DR plans that ensure that IT applications, infrastructure and processes required to support recovery objectives in the event of a disruption in service.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document recovery requirements as well as identification of critical applications and IT infrastructure required to meet these requirements.
Support in assessing the applications and IT infrastructure, identify gaps between recovery capabilities and business needs, and design and implement DR procedures based on requirements.
Support the creation of program status communications to internal management (board of directors, audit, business continuity management and business units) and external stakeholders (regulators, auditors, customers and so forth) regarding the status of the IT disaster recovery program, including annual reporting, audit report responses and customer requests.
Support in developing the training materials to educate the workforce, with a focus on key disaster recovery participants, on policies, procedures and best practices related to preparation for and response to disaster recovery.
Assist in conducting the disaster recovery test activities and help to identify improvement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Participate in assessing the impact of a potential disruption in service, including declaring a disaster and activating the disaster recovery plan.
Maintain accurate documentation of disaster recovery plans, procedures, and test results.
Execute the disaster recovery plan(s) when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur.
Carry out any other tasks requested by the direct manager or the superior that are within the limits of the job, provided that this task does not make a fundamental difference in the basic tasks of the job


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum Experience:

3-5 yearsof experience in disaster recovery/business continuity planning or related field
Good understanding of disaster recovery principles, practices, and industry standards
