A world-class refinery with a refining capacity of 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) to process Arabian Heavy crude oil into high-value refined products of the best specifications to meet growing world demand for these products. The refinery is scheduled to start operation by the end of 2013 and produce diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline; in addition, it will produce petrochemicals, like paraxylene, aromatic benzene, and propylene. The new refinery will use state-of-the art, competitive industrial technologies, the most important of which being the deep conversion technology that will enable the facility to produce a high percentage of light products and value-added petrochemicals. |
